Classic Albany Rocking Chair

Classic Albany Rocking Chair

"The Classic Albany rocking chair is just that - a classic. This solid handsome oak rocker is designed and built by expert craftsmen known all over the world for there quality handcrafted rocking chairs. The design of this chair is plain and simple which adds to its appeal. The design and construction has not changed since 1924. This heirloom quality chair is great for sitting on the porch and enjoying the company of friends and family. The chair is made employing Swelled Joint Construction a technique borrowed from Shaker design that uses NO GLUE or harsh chemicals. The key is the moisture difference of the small and large posts. The larger posts shrink and the smaller ones expand making an extremely tight fit. And this fit only gets tighter over time. The only thing that has been changed over the years has been the addition of stainless steel nails to enable outdoor use and an additional comfort curve at the front of the seat. The featured item is shown above in the Deluxe Hunter Green finish. To see other finishes click on the Options tab. "

Mahogany Adirondack Rocking Chair

"This special adirondack rocker is constructed of Kiln dried 5/4 Dark Red Meranti variety Mahogany. The contoured back seat and wide arms work perfect anywhere. On the porch deck or under that special shade tree this chair is the one. You name the spot. Just sit relax and enjoy! Our Adirondack Rocker has plugged screw holes and Stainless Steel fasteners. Mahogany is a tropical hardwood that is easily maintained and is insect fungus and rot resistant. It is a hard and strong wood comparable in strength to Oak and Teak and is much more scratch resistant than Cedar or Pine. With the best regards for our environment we take every effort to ensure that our Mahogany is sourced from well-managed permanent forests that allocate re-plantation. This adirondack rocker is shipped partially assembled. Assembly is easy and requires only common household tools."
